My Twitter friend and fellow e-boutique owner, Katja, has exciting news. Not your run of the mill exciting, but couch-jumping, temporary insanity inducing kind of exciting. You see, on Friday, during an interview at Tom Cruise's Telluride home, Oprah Winfrey picked up a pair of Suri's little shoes out of her cubby and showed her audience how cute they were. But these weren't just any old shoes. They were Little Ladies Maryjanes in Ladybug by Monkey Toes. And they came from Skimbaco, Katja's online store.
A former runway model, Katja launched Skimbaco about a year ago as a "one-woman-show on a shoestring budget." A mother of 3, Katja spends long hours working to get her name out there, so how cool is it that a gift she personally wrapped up for the Cruise family ended up on Oprah? As a boutique owner myself, I can tell you - IT IS WAY COOL. Also included in the gift basket from Skimbaco was a bunch of stuff for Katie Holmes, adorable clothing, jewelery and accessories for Suri, and Blume personalized clothing for Tom.
If a small shop like Skimbaco can wend her way into Tom Cruise's house, who knows what is possible for all of us mom-owned businesses!!

the ladybugs are SOOOOO cute! of course everything i saw at skimbaco was great.
i guess my main favorite is the Hymy Key Chain Red Kitty.

I love those shoes, and am very happy for Katja and the shows highlight of her shoes! Great things do happen to those who work hard for them.
