Alex & I take a cooking class at Create-a-Cook in Newton and while it's not cheap, it's absolutely AWESOME. We both love it and most of the dishes we prepare are relatively simple (but not toosimple) and delicious. Today we made hummus with bagel chips and it was so good, I'm thinking I may never buy store-bought hummus again. Let me know what you think:
Ingredients:
- 2.5C chickpeas
- 1/2C water
- 1/2C tahini
- 3Tbsp lemon juice
- 1tsp salt
- 1 clove garlic
- 3Tbsp olive oil
- 1/8tsp pepper
- 2Tbsp parsley
Put all ingredients in a food processor and mix until you reach your own personal desired consistency. Yield A LOT!
For bagel chips, slice a whole bagel into rounds or chips, toss with 3Tbsp's olive oil, salt, and Italian spices and bake on 350 until crispy.
